As she gets into the acting, she starts thinking that Dan is "not enough" for her, and she acts colder and colder towards him. One night they go to a party, and there Pauline meets Chuck..he's right the boy she needs: handsome, rich and popular. While looking for Pauline, Dan sees how Chuck and Pauline are inequivocally flirting (and he kisses a random girl for revenge, but who cares). Chuck helps Pauline with her career, but he's not as sweet and caring as Dan used to be: their tempers are right the same and they often argue. Also he boast with his friends - Nate included - about what him and Pauline do "in private". Pauline cries, Nate's not happy about it at all. Pauline misses her simple and spontaneous relationship with Dan, but when she talks about it to him, he misunderstands and thinks she actually misses him. Anyway Pauline decides to talk to Nate, because she's sad about this unrequited love: they promise to be friends. At a party Dan tries to dance with Pauline, so she can try to win back her, but she runs off, upset for breaking his heart once again. In the end, disenchanted and brokenhearted (she's a drama queen!), she goes back to Chuck, who is the only one who can really understand her. TO CUT IT SHORT: Pauline doesn't like Dan anymore. Pauline likes Chuck. Chuck likes Pauline. Nate likes her too. Dan likes her still. Pauline...likes them all!
